JAMES A. FURNESS is a licensed General Contractor in the State of California providing residential construction, both new and remodels with emphasis on environmental and sustainable building and remodeling. Jim Furness has over 20 years experience in the home construction industry.
Mr. Furness graduated from Santa Rosa Junior College, and received a Green Building Professional Certificate from Sonoma State University. He is a member of the United States Green Building Council, Redwood Empire Chapter (USGBC). He is also on the Advisory Board of the California Straw Building Association (CASBA), and a member of the Redwood Empire Remodelers Association (RERA). Jim keeps current with new information and regulations in the construction industry by attending seminars and classes on a regular basis.
Furness Construction started as a Sole Proprietor in 1997 and went on to form a corporation in 2005. The corporation has helped homeowners in San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma and Napa Counties. Their building projects include major renovations, as well as bathrooms, kitchens, additions to existing homes and new home construction. Furness Construction, Inc's work also includes straw bale buildings and living roof installations.
